Why I No Longer Recommend DailyBreak

I just found out that DailyBreak has a new site.   They removed the store where you used to be able to redeem your points for gift cards which means it will no longer be of much use to us.

What they want you to do now is use your points to enter sweepstakes in which you may or may not win a gift card.   To me, that is totally not worth it so I won't be spending any more time on DailyBreak.

Jamey was the one who used it far more than I did (as our last weekly round up blog post showed):

DailyBreak (Doreen) I continually forget this one so I am only up to 721 points.   I once had more but went so long without logging in that they took all of my points away.

DailyBreak (Jamey)  Jamey is much, much better at remembering DailyBreak.  He is up to 20,255 points.  And has already cashed out once for a $25 gift card.

Since the Store is no longer available, Jamey cashed out some of his points for a chance at a $100 Amazon and $50 Walmart egift card coming up in the next few days.

I also just spent some time checking out the Facebook page for DailyBreak to try to get an idea of what is going on because the DailyBreak How It Works page has not been updated and is still talking about using points to earn gift cards.

Understandably there are a lot of people who are not happy about the changes including that they no longer let you see which activities you have already done.  This is important because you are only credited for doing them the first time.

If you don't know if you have ever done something (which is very easy on a site like DailyBreak), you can waste your time doing it again and not receive anything for it.

People who have been a member for a long time are also complaining that suddenly their account needs to be verified again as if they were a new member.  That is never a good sign.

Therefore,

  1. I agree with you on the discontinuing this one. I use to do a site that was the same way to where you could only enter sweepstakes which I never won anything over a 2 to 3 yr period and it just wasn't worth all the work to end up with nothing.
